Q:

I feel guilty when I look at my parents because I was adopted

A: Talk to your parents about your feelings. They loved you enough to pick you out of all the children in the world so I am sure they love you enough to listen and talk about your feelings. PS--My kid is 20 and still costs me $$$$$$$ every day. But it is worth every cent. shelly and fr chuck you are right on. my 3 kids are a pain in the rear but i wouldnt have it any other way. Talk to your parents i am sure they would love to know. We all go through times of feeling unworthy of being loved or accepted, even children who are born into families. So many people have children born to them with little love or even knowing how to love. When people adopt, they have sought you out, I imagine prayed to find just the right

Q:

child support

A: Your Husband has no legal duty to support this child as he is not listed on birth certificate, he is not a biological parent and he did not adopt her. So that is correct.  However the fact that he was your husband could mean that there is a "presumption of paternity," due to your marriage. The question then would be the date of marriage and her birth date and if the times coincided.  He may then order a paternity test and the presumption could fall away. So that claim would unlikely succeed. Then, the fact that  he claimed her on his taxes: 1.  Did you file jointly? - if you did then it may be a valid filing against your own income or joint income; 2. If you bring this up and if it were illegal to claim her, you could be complicit if you...

Q:

step-parent adoption

A: If you have his address then you can serve him with notice of the step parent adoption. Leaving the country in and of itself would not be enough to prove abandonment. However that combined with the the lack of child support and contact with the child would in my opinion constitute  it. I hope this information was helpful to you. This answer is based solely on the information you have provided in your question and as always, I would advise that you arrange for an in person consultation with an attorney from my firm or another Family Law attorney familiar with Florida Family Law who can analyze the specific facts and circumstances of the case more closely to better advise you. Sincerely, Daniel Bachert,...

Q:

child support

A: Maria: DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A LAWYER or ATTORNEY. I am someone who has experience in family law issues, and am sharing my OPINION only. For the exact law as it pertains to your specific case contact a Professional Attorney in your county. I recommend seeking out a Professional Attorney located in Oklahoma:Most Attorneys offer free 1/2 free consultation to discuss the case and payment options. - Work with Attorney in Oklahoma: File termination of parenting rights with father. Then father must respond. Remember: If you new husband adopts said child then the child support from ex stops. You have a "mixed" bag of questions Maria: On one had you want to collect child support: On the other hand you want you...

Q:

Should we give up our future baby up for adoption or raise it ourselves?

A: i think that where there is a will there is a way and you sound like a very smart man and i belive you will be able to raise this child and still have all your goals and dreams you will just have someone else to be proud of you when you accomplish it. children add so much joy and love to life. also carriying a child for 9 months than just giving it away is a very hard thing to do so keep that in mind, and i commend you for not concidering adoption, raise your baby and give it all the love it will be the most rewarding thing you ever do. good luck...
Q:

step parent adoption

A: Hi Kristina, you will need to file a Petition for Stepparent adoption and Termination of the (biological) Father"s Parental Rights as well as motion the court for a search of the biological parent registry. The biological father must be given notice of the action whether by personal service or publication (publication only after it is proved that the proper due diligence has been followed to try and locate the biological father for the purpose of personally serving him with the Petition for adoption). By what you have stated, even if the biological father contests the action it would be my opinion that the adoption could and most likely would be granted upon the grounds of abandonment. However be very careful in...

Q:

adoption

A: I know a few people who adopted and they had some hardships along the way and had to do some serious soul searching. Firstly you need to think about the colour of the baby ie does it matter if you are Asian and the baby is African, what are the waiting times for babies in Australia or whatever country you are looking at. What requirements do you need to have and what do you have to do throughout the whole process. Are you looking for open or closed adoption? I would suggest you contact Welfare in your state and talk with them about the process and contact an adoption agency to ask them questions about that side. The people I know adopted their children from Korea and had to spend vast amounts of money to get them...

Q:

legal guardianship to adoption

A: Dear Paul If you want this child to be your child, you will need to file an adoption petition. You will need to file a petition to terminate the parental rights of the parents. Otherwise, you could be appointed the guardian of the child, there are forms that the mother would need to file for that which have to be filed with the court....

Q:

Im Nearly 10 Weeks Pregnant And Dont Want A Baby As I Already Have A child And Have Broken Up With My Partner What Can I Do?

A: Please do not even consider an abortion. Contact an adoption agency and give the child up for adoption. Once the child is born, you will not even see the child. adoption is the best advice I can give. By doing that, you are not only giving the child a better life, you are also helping couples who want children but cannot have one themselves. Also, any and all medical bills pertaining to the pregnancy will be paid for, whereas that is saving you money. Please consider my advice. Let me know what you decide. Thanks....
Q:

9 Weeks Pregnant with third child and my husband doesnt want the baby..

A: i know that change can be hard but you need to take a llong hard look into what is more important to you. your baby or the man who doesnt want it. single moms with kids can get the government to pay for their homes and food plus your husand will be forced to pay child support for all three kids. i suggest you leave and if you need to get a job and find a baby sitter. if you cant seem to leave your husband than you need to think about adoption. i am adopted myself and there are lots of people that would take your child if you dont want it. but if you get an abortion just because you are scared of leaving your husband and he doesnt want the baby than you are really selfish and should not have kids at all. not to be...
