Q:

What Is a cervical herniated disc?

A: A cervical disc is a hard circular cushion located between the bones of the neck and spine. Each disc is surrounded by a fluid known as nucleus pulposus and covered with annulus fibrosus, a protective strip made of a firm, rubber-like material. The purpose of cervical discs is to protect the neck and spine from damage resulting from impact. A cervical herniated disc is a condition in which the nucleus pulposus leaks out, resulting in cracking or displacement of the cervical disc. When the condition first occurs, a person may not necessarily...

Q:

cervical herniated discs-lightheadedness, blurry vision

A: Wow, I thought these questions would be easier to answer than this! :) Okay, let"s start with your discs.  I"ve never seen a correlation between them and vision.  Vision occurs in the head, and not in the neck.  You have issues for sure there, but it"s not the cause of the vision loss.  I would recommend a spine trainer, like the posture pump, I"d buy it on ebay, if I were you. It"s not your ear, it"s not your blood, it"s not a tumor.  That leaves blood pressure, called orthostatic hypertension, and something that connects all the way down to your butt, because that"s weird, too.  Have you been checked for meningitis?  that would cause some of the issues you are having. I have to admit, though, I"m really just spitballing...

Q:

cervical herniated discs

A: No you probably do not need surgery.  The reason I was asking is because once you have surgery your chances of a full recovery are greatly diminished.  So it is actually going to be in your favor that you did not have surgery.  Your next step is to see an Upper cervical Doctor of Chiropractic so that you can start healing up properly.  discs do however take some time to heal so you will have to be patient but this is where your patience will pay off for you.  I can find someone good for you to visit if you can give me your town, state and nearest big city.  There is a possibility that you may have to travel some, but I will find you the closest one that is good and will help you to get well. RADC...

What does a cervical herniated disc look like?

A: A herniated cervical disc is a cushioning disc between two neck bones (vertebrae) that has ruptured and lost its structural integrity. This type of injury resembles a punctured tire or a jelly doughnut with its filling pressed out.FactsAccording to SpineUniverse, a normal cervical disc consists of a tough outer band (annulus fibrosus) surrounding a jelly-like middle called the nucleus pulposus. Ruptures (herniations) occur when damage to the outer band allows the nucleus pulposus to spill past its normal borders....
