Q:
Twelve years ago I had my left kidney removed in China. Since that time, I always have skin irritation in summer. I went to many doctors in Australia, US, and Canada. They all treated the problem as allergy, but I have tried all the common medicine, such as Benadryl, Reactin, etc. They do not work well, except giving me some hours of sleep. The only thing that is effective is Prednisone, prescribed by an Australia dermotologist. Every year, I had to take Prednisone to put the rash under control. Otherwise, i have to suffer for the whole summer. I always suspect this has something to do with my missing kidney. I discovered some information from your website about the function of the adrenal cortex and corticosterone hormones. I am writing to you to seek any help or advice. I feel weak and joints stiff when I have the rashes. I''m wondering whether they are all results of my kidney function.
A: I am not sure what these symptoms mean either, but as a suggestion, it may potentially be useful for you to seek the opinion of a rheumatologist as well....

Q:
adrenal cortical cancer
A: This page tells you about cancer of the outer layer of the adrenal gland. There is information about The adrenal glandsWhat cancer of the adrenal cortex isSymptoms of adrenal cortical carcinomaTreating adrenal cortical carcinoma The adrenal glandsThere are two adrenal glands, one above each kidney. ''Ad - renal’ means next to the kidney. The adrenal glands have an inner and outer layer - the outer layer is the cortex and the inner the medulla. Cancer can start in either of these areas of the adrenal gland. This page is...

Q:
What Are adrenal Tumors?
A: adrenal tumors are tumors of the adrenal glands that arise from the cortex or the medulla, two parts of the glands. adrenal tumors are formed when excess secretions of hormones occur. The adrenal cortex can produce an excess of aldosterone and steroid hormones, and the adrenal medulla can produce too many catecholamines. These excess secretions form adrenal tumors, which can be either benign or malignant, but it can be difficult to distinguish between the two. The two adrenal glands are located just above the kidneys and help to protect the body against stress. Many...

Q:
What Is adrenal Cancer?
A: adrenal cancer is a type of cancer that affects the adrenal glands, which are the components of the endocrine system responsible for manufacturing various steroid hormones. Since these triangular-shaped glands are positioned just above each kidney, they are sometimes referred to as the suprarenal glands. Each gland consists of two parts. The adrenal cortex is the outer layer of the gland that produces cortisol to regulate glucose utilization in the body, as well as androgen hormones related to sexual maturation and fertility. The inner layer, or adrenal medulla, secretes epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) and norepinephrine, which...

Q:
What Is The Function Of The adrenal Gland?
A: adrenal glands are endocrine glands that produce hormones with different functions, due to the two distinct parts they are made of, the adrenal cortex and the medulla. The adrenal cortex produces corticosteroids like cortisol, aldosterone and androgens. The medulla produces catecholamines like epinephrine and norepinephrine. They are located above the kidneys and excrete various hormones and are primarily responsible for regulating stress in the body....
